When Joe Lieberman’s family announced Wednesday afternoon that he had died, following “complications of a fall” at his home in New York City, the accolades began to pour in.
Nice job on the personal attack, Polly! Do you not think people should be held accountable for their actions? Especially public officials? Do you care to guess how many people (not soldiers) died in the Iraq War? You don't have a clue how many died, do you? The votes our representatives take have real and often brutal consequences. You should educate yourself. By the way, do YOU live in New Haven? I still do, and have no plans to leave.
Thank you for this essay Randall. All I could say when Lieberman changed his colors was “ what happened to the Joe I knew in New Haven?” You outlined everything here. I’m sorry for his family at their loss but I am not grieving.
Yes, Lieberman became a deep embarrassment. In retrospect, I'm sorry that I voted for him instead of Lowell Weickrr, whose legacy just seems to grow ever larger with the passing years.
I'm sure Lieberman's being married to a highly paid health insurance lobbyist had nothing to do with his killing off Medicare for all. What a disgrace.
A fair assessment indeed—I would have written a far harsher one in light of Joe Lieberman’s quashing of the AMA’s public option and general kowtowing to corporate donors.
I didn't agree with Joe Lieberman on many issues, but is this article necessary? The man just died, have some respect for his family. I've followed you Randall since you started at the Register. Most of the time, I laughed out loud while reading your articles. You ran around town thinking you're a real New Havener, you're not. You are totally clueless to what the real and important vibe of New Haven was and is. Maybe after you're gone, someone will tell their disappointment of you as a local columnist.
“You ran around town thinking you're a real New Havener, you're not. You are totally clueless to what the real and important vibe of New Haven was and is.”
I am beginning to think there are no true Scotsmen.

That about sums it up. Thanks, Randy.
